Score Accelerator is the only SAT® Reading program where your child works directly with me—a proven expert who has helped hundreds score in the 700s—not handed off to junior tutors. Every week. Every session. At a fraction of typical expert rates.

Most SAT prep companies advertise 'expert instruction,' then hand your child off to a recent college grad working from a script. The experienced tutors with actual track records? They charge $300–$500/hour. And the 'affordable' alternatives? Video courses that leave your child to figure it out alone.

I built Score Accelerator to change that. In this 10-week program, your child gets live weekly sessions with me, full access to my comprehensive online course (95+ units), 24/7 forum support, and 40% off private tutoring if you want one-on-one help.

No bait-and-switch. No part-time junior tutors. Just direct access to the expert who has helped hundreds of students score in the 90th–99th percentile—and the proprietary strategies I've developed over 13 years to help students achieve their dream scores.

Enrollment is now open for my 10-week course leading up to the March 14, 2026 SAT. Sessions begin Tuesday, January 6th.

Enrollment closes soon, and space is limited. Enroll now to secure your child's spot.

The 3 Fatal Flaws in Every SAT Prep Program (And Why Your Honor Student Keeps Scoring Under 650)

You've tried everything: practice books, online courses, maybe even a tutor. Yet your straight-A student still can't break 650 on SAT Reading. Here's why traditional prep fails even the brightest kids:

Flaw #1: Generic "Tips and Tricks" From Tutors Without Established Track Records

Most programs teach vague strategies like "predict the correct answer, then eliminate" delivered by tutors who can't provide a documented history of personal success stories. The company might share a few testimonials, but what about the specific person teaching YOUR child? When you ask, the sales person will deflect to credentials or tutor test scores instead.

Flaw #2: Passive Learning That Doesn't Build Real Skills

Watching video lessons and knocking out endless practice tests isn't enough. The SAT demands automatic pattern recognition under time pressure. Without deliberate practice—targeted drills, timed exercises, and systematic skill-building—students simply don't develop the reflexes they need.

Flaw #3: Wasteful Packages With Anonymous Instructors

Most programs force you to choose between two bad options. Affordable 6-12 session packages cram months of material into weeks, either skipping advanced strategies (capping scores at 650) or rushing through fundamentals (ensuring confusion later). Or you shell out $5,000+ for packages taught by part-timers or college kids. Ask about your assigned tutor's success stories and you'll get company statistics, academic credentials, or the tutor's own score—never that specific instructor's actual results. You're gambling thousands on an unknown variable.

The result? Stressed families spending thousands on multiple programs, watching capable students plateau at the same score, with test dates coming and going and college application season looming with no clear path forward.

Score Accelerator: 3 Advantages That Break the 650 Barrier

After over a decade of analyzing why smart students struggle with SAT Reading, I built Score Accelerator around three breakthrough advantages:

Strategic Advantage: Proprietary Methods Taught by Their Creator

Forget generic tips. The Cross-Examiner's Toolbox™ is the exact framework that has helped hundreds of my students score in the 90th–99th percentile—from fundamental paradigm shifts to precise strategies for every question type. And unlike other programs, I personally teach your child these strategies. Not someone reading from my manual.

Training Advantage: Active Skill Building That Sticks

Video courses and 'self-paced' practice sets leave your child to figure it out alone. Score Accelerator builds skills systematically through live instruction and Q&A sessions, targeted drills that develop pattern recognition, and exercises with detailed answer explanations written by me—not auto-generated feedback or generic answer keys

Access Advantage: Expert Instruction Without the Exorbitant Price Tag

Tutors with proven track records typically charge $300–$500/hour, putting genuine expertise out of reach for most families. Score Accelerator changes the math.

Because you're working directly with me—no corporate overhead, no layers of management, no marketing budgets funding Super Bowl ads—I can offer expert-level instruction at a fraction of the rates charged by big-box prep companies for junior tutors.

Your child works with me every week: live sessions, real-time Q&A, and 24/7 forum support where I personally respond. Need one-on-one attention for a breakthrough? Private sessions are available at 40% off my standard rate.

Who Is Score Accelerator For?

✓ High achievers who excel academically but can't break into the 90th percentile on SAT Reading

✓ Students who have plateaued with generic prep methods and need expert-level strategies to break through

✓ Families who want proven expertise without paying $300–$500/hour

✓ Students preparing for an upcoming SAT who want structured, expert-led instruction on a defined timeline

✓ Families frustrated by programs that advertise "expert instruction" but deliver junior tutors

Section 1: Mastering SAT® Core Reading with the Cross-Examiner's Toolbox™

Section Overview

In Section 1, you'll master the foundational approach that transforms SAT® Reading from an unpredictable guessing game into a straightforward process of systematic, objective analysis. Think of this section as your "law school" training—where you learn to think like a cross-examining attorney evaluating testimony in a courtroom.

What You'll Master

The Cross-Examiner's Mindset (Unit 1.1)
You'll abandon subjective interpretation in favor of objective analysis, learning to treat each answer choice as a "witness" that must tell "the truth and nothing but the truth" about the passage. You'll discover the Iron Law of SAT® Reading and understand why correct answers are predictable rather than mysterious.

The Cross-Examiner's Toolbox™ (Units 1.3-1.7)
You'll build a powerful arsenal of analytical tools—the Highlighter Test, Clip Art Test, Saturation Slider Test, Negative Filter Test, and Relevance Test—that help you systematically "cross-examine" answer choices and expose the three deceptive witnesses while identifying the one truthful witness.

The Three Key Forms of Valid Testimony (Units 1.3-1.7)
You'll learn to recognize and evaluate the three predictable ways that correct answers can accurately testify about passage content:

  • Summary Reformulation: How correct answers accurately condense passage information, moving from specific details to general statements while maintaining 100% accuracy

  • Rhetorical Description: How correct answers accurately describe the logical relationships between different parts of a passage (cause/effect, contrast, examples, etc.)

  • Valid Inference: How correct answers draw logically sound conclusions from passage evidence using single-step reasoning grounded in concrete textual support

Why This Approach Works

Rather than memorizing tactics for individual question types, you'll master the underlying principles that govern all SAT® Core Reading questions. Whether you're facing an Inference Question, Main Purpose Question, Details Question, or any other Core Reading subtype, you'll apply the same systematic cross-examination process.

This approach works because it mirrors how the test is actually constructed. SAT® Reading isn't testing your creativity or interpretive skills—it's testing your ability to distinguish between accurate and inaccurate claims about textual evidence. Once you understand this fundamental reality, every question becomes an exercise in logical analysis rather than subjective guesswork.

Building Your Foundation

Each unit in this section builds systematically on the previous one:

  • Unit 1.1-1.2 establish the conceptual framework and Iron Law

  • Units 1.3-1.5 apply the framework to the most common form of "testimony" (summary)

  • Unit 1.6-1.7 extend the framework to the analysis of relationships between passage elements (rhetorical description)

  • Unit 1.8-1.9 complete your training with the most challenging form of "testimony" (inference)

By the end of Section 1, you'll have transformed from a student who approaches SAT® Reading with uncertainty and frustration into a skilled cross-examiner who can systematically identify correct answers with confidence and precision.

Looking Ahead

Section 1 provides the foundation for everything that follows in this course. In Section 2, you'll apply these core principles to master the specific tactics for each individual Core Reading subtype. In Parts 3 and 4 of the course, you'll extend your analytical skills to Command of Evidence Questions and Standards of English Conventions.

But first, you must master the fundamentals. Welcome to your cross-examiner training.

Unit 1.2: The Three Forms of Correct Answers
Unit 1.3: Summary, The Cross-Examiner's Mindset™, and The Highlighter Test™

Unit 1.12: Quiz - Inferences

Unit 2: Applying the Cross-Examiner's Toolbox: SAT Textual Analysis Question-Type Tactics

Section 2: Applying Your Cross-Examiner's Toolbox™ to Textual Analysis Questions

Section Overview

In Section 2, you'll apply the Cross-Examiner's Toolbox you mastered in Section 1 to systematically tackle every type of Textual Analysis question on the SAT Reading section. Rather than memorizing separate strategies for each question type, you'll discover how the same systematic cross-examination process works across all Textual Analysis subtypes.

Think of this section as your "residency training"—where you take the cross-examination skills you learned in law school (Section 1) and apply them in real courtroom situations across different types of cases.

What You'll Master

The Universal Cross-Examiner's Approach (Unit 2.1)

You'll learn the three-round strategy that works for all Textual Analysis questions, regardless of how the College Board labels them. This systematic approach prevents the common mistake of treating each question type as a completely different challenge when they all fundamentally test the same skill: distinguishing between honest and dishonest witnesses about passage content.

Question-Specific Cross-Examination Techniques

You'll master how to apply your Cross-Examiner's Toolbox most effectively to each major Textual Analysis subtype:

Details Questions (Unit 2.2): Cross-examining witnesses about specific facts, with emphasis on parsing answer choices and applying the Highlighter Test to verify claims against passage evidence.

Main Idea Questions (Unit 2.3): Cross-examining witnesses about the passage's central point, using the Relevance Test to distinguish between main ideas and supporting details while applying systematic elimination.

Main Purpose Questions (Unit 2.4): Cross-examining witnesses about author intent, with careful attention to purpose terms and the distinction between what a passage says versus why it was written.

Function Questions (Unit 2.5): Cross-examining witnesses about the role or purpose of specific passage elements, applying rhetorical description skills to identify relationships between parts and the whole.

Cross-Text Connections Questions (Unit 2.6): Cross-examining witnesses about relationships between two passages, applying your toolbox tests to dual-passage verification while avoiding speculation about author responses.

Structure Questions (Unit 2.7): Cross-examining witnesses about passage organization, using efficient parsing and elimination techniques since these questions are particularly vulnerable to systematic toolbox application.

The Key Insight: Question Types Don't Change Your Fundamental Approach

The most important discovery you'll make in Section 2 is that all Textual Analysis questions are fundamentally the same challenge: identifying which answer choice tells "the truth and nothing but the truth" about the passage while three others violate the Iron Law.

Whether you're facing a Details Question, Main Purpose Question, Function Question, or any other subtype, you'll:

  • Apply the same three-round Cross-Examiner's strategy

  • Use the same five toolbox tests (Highlighter, Clip Art, Negative Filter, Saturation Slider, Relevance)

  • Apply the three core skills from Section 1: summary reformulation, rhetorical description (identifying relationships between passage elements), and logically valid inference—all subject to systematic cross-examination using your toolbox

  • Follow the same systematic process of cross-examining witnesses until dishonest ones break under questioning

The question type determines what aspect of the passage you're analyzing, but your fundamental approach—systematic cross-examination using your toolbox to evaluate reformulations, rhetorical descriptions, and inferences—remains constant.

Note: While Inference Questions are also Textual Analysis subtypes, they require advanced tactics and are covered in a later section due to their complexity.

Why This Approach Transforms Your Performance

Eliminates Question Type Anxiety

Instead of panicking when you see an unfamiliar question type, you'll confidently apply your established Cross-Examiner's process. Every question becomes an opportunity to systematically apply skills you've already mastered.

Prevents Strategic Overload

Rather than juggling dozens of different strategies, you'll use the same five-tool system across all question types, allowing you to focus your mental energy on precise application rather than strategy selection.

Builds Systematic Confidence

As you see the same Cross-Examiner's Toolbox work effectively across different question types, you'll develop unshakeable confidence in your systematic approach rather than relying on intuition or guesswork.

Mirrors How the Test Is Actually Constructed

The SAT doesn't test wholly different skills for different question types—it tests your ability to distinguish accurate from inaccurate claims about textual evidence. Your Cross-Examiner's approach aligns perfectly with this reality.

Building Your Expertise

Each unit in Section 2 builds systematically on your Section 1 foundation:

Unit 2.1 establishes the universal three-round approach that applies to all Textual Analysis questions, showing you how to adapt your toolbox to different contexts while maintaining the same core process.

Units 2.2-2.7 demonstrate how to apply your established Cross-Examiner's approach most effectively to the specific challenges each subtype presents, with particular emphasis on which toolbox tests are most powerful for each type and how to apply your Section 1 skills (summary reformulation, rhetorical description, and valid inference) through systematic cross-examination.

Worked Examples and Independent Practice Questions throughout the section reinforce the key insight that you're not learning new strategies—you're becoming more skilled at wielding the same proven tools across different contexts.

What Makes This Section Different

Traditional SAT prep approaches treat each question type as a separate challenge requiring different strategies. This creates confusion, increases cognitive load, and undermines confidence when students encounter unfamiliar question formats.

Section 2 takes the opposite approach: you'll discover that mastering the Cross-Examiner's Toolbox gives you a universal solution that works across all Textual Analysis questions. This insight is both liberating and powerful—liberating because you don't need to memorize dozens of strategies, and powerful because systematic application of proven tools is more reliable than question-specific tactics.

Your Cross-Examiner's Mindset in Action

Throughout Section 2, you'll maintain the cross-examiner's mindset that transformed your approach in Section 1:

  • Every answer choice is a witness that must be systematically cross-examined

  • The Iron Law governs everything: correct answers tell "the truth and nothing but the truth" about the passage

  • Your toolbox tests reveal the truth: systematic application of your five tests exposes dishonest witnesses while confirming honest ones

  • Evidence trumps intuition: you trust your systematic cross-examination over subjective impressions

Looking Ahead

Section 2 provides the systematic application skills that prepare you for the full range of SAT Reading challenges. In Section 3, you'll tackle the more complex Inference Questions using advanced Cross-Examiner's techniques. Command of Evidence Questions and Standards of English Conventions (grammar/punctuation) questions require different strategic approaches entirely, as the Cross-Examiner's Toolbox is specifically designed for Textual Analysis questions.

But first, you must master the systematic application of your Cross-Examiner's Toolbox to all core Textual Analysis question types. This section transforms you from someone who knows the tools into someone who can wield them with precision and confidence across any Textual Analysis context.

Welcome to your cross-examiner's residency training. Your toolbox is ready. The witnesses are waiting. Let's begin the systematic pursuit of truth.

FAQ

Is Score Accelerator Right for Your Child?

When are the live Zoom sessions?

Classes begin Tuesday, January 6 at 5pm PT/8pm ET and continue as follows:

Weekly Sessions (through March 10th):

  • Tuesdays at 5pm PT/8pm ET

  • Saturdays at 10:30am PT/1:30pm ET

Additional Crash Course Sessions offered during Weeks 9 and 10:

  • Thursday, March 5 at 5pm PT/8pm ET

  • Thursday, March 12 at 5pm PT/8pm ET

  • Friday, March 13 at 4:30pm PT/7:30pm ET (day before the test)

Can't make it? Every session is recorded and available for 48-hour replay.

Flexible attendance: Students are free to attend as many sessions as they wish. Additionally, they are welcome to drop in late or leave early from any session as their schedules require.

What if my child misses a live session?

Every session is recorded for 48-hour replay. Additionally, the course materials are available 24/7, and the forum provides round-the-clock support.

If your child has specific questions about a strategy or test item they missed, there are three options: bring them to the Q&A after the next live session, post in the Score Accelerator Lab for a response within 12 hours, or book a discounted private session for immediate help.

Many successful students attend just 50% of sessions live, using recordings for the rest.

What happens in the live sessions?

Each session follows a structured format designed to build real skills—not just passive understanding.

Before the session: Your child completes assigned homework from the course, including both strategy study and practice questions. Answers are posted in the Course Google Classroom two hours before we meet, so they can review their work and come prepared with questions.

During the session: I open with a brief review of the assigned strategies, then move into live demonstrations—applying those strategies to authentic SAT questions ranging from medium to difficult.

Most question types have specific tricks and traps the test-makers use repeatedly; after working through the "base model" of each question type, I show students exactly how to recognize and handle these variations. Over the course of the program, we cover every SAT Reading & Writing question type: Command of Evidence, Inference, Words in Context, Main Idea, Standard English Conventions, and more.

Q&A: Each session closes with open Q&A. Your child can ask about the strategies we covered, questions from their practice work, or anything else related to SAT Reading & Writing—and get direct answers from me.

How will I access the course and live sessions?

Access to the comprehensive online course begins immediately after payment and account creation and lasts for four months—plenty of time to work through all 95+ units at your child's pace.

Live Zoom sessions run through March 13th, 2026 (the final session before the March 14th SAT). Session links, suggested practice and study materials, and 48-hour video replays are available in the Course Google Classroom. Session links can also be found in the members area of the Score Accelerator Lab.

What to expect after enrolling:

Within minutes of enrollment, your child will receive an automated email with login credentials and course access instructions, followed by a personal welcome email from me. This welcome email includes the Google Classroom class code, a link to the Score Accelerator Lab, and a complimentary one-year Lab membership.

Everything is designed for a smooth, hassle-free start so your child can begin improving their SAT Reading & Writing skills right away.

Will group sessions be enough?

My small group sessions offer ample opportunity for individualized questions and cover both foundations and advanced strategies brilliantly.

The truth many parents don't realize: until your child consistently scores 680+, what they need most—learning SAT question types and grammar rules, habituating the core Cross-Examiner's Toolbox techniques—is perfectly suited group classes with expert guidance. Exclusively using expensive private tutoring for this foundational work can be like hiring a professional chef to teach you to make a grilled cheese sandwich.

Once foundations are solid, strategic one-on-one support becomes more valuable. That's why you get 40% off my private tutoring rate whenever your child needs targeted help.

While many students achieve their target scores through group sessions alone, others use 2-5 private sessions for breakthroughs—far more cost-effective than paying full price for 20+ sessions.

Why SAT Reading & Writing only?

Most prep programs try to cover both Math and Reading & Writing in 18–36 hours of instruction. That's roughly 9–18 hours per section—barely enough time to introduce the material, let alone master it.

I take a different approach. Score Accelerator focuses exclusively on SAT Reading & Writing because that's where my expertise lies and where most high-achieving students hit unexpected walls. By concentrating on one section, your child gets the depth of instruction that actually produces score gains—not a rushed survey of both sections that leaves gaps everywhere.

If your child also needs Math support, I'm happy to recommend specialists I trust. But trying to do everything is how programs end up doing nothing well.

What's your refund policy?

My Guarantee

If your child completes the program and doesn't see meaningful improvement, I'll refund your entire investment.

To qualify:

  • Attend at least 90% of live sessions (miss no more than 2)

  • Complete at least 90% of assigned coursework with a minimum 75% score on graded quizzes and exercises

  • Submit a verified starting score before the program begins (either an official SAT score or an Official Practice Test from the College Board Bluebook app, with screenshot showing test number, score, and date)

  • Take the March 14th, 2026 SAT

Guaranteed improvement:

  • Starting score below 670: 40-point minimum improvement guaranteed

  • Starting score 670–700: 30-point minimum improvement guaranteed

If your child meets these requirements and doesn't hit the guaranteed improvement, email me within 14 days of the official score release date with a screenshot of their March 14th score, and I'll refund your full tuition.

I'm that confident in the system—and in what we can accomplish working together.

Walker Prep Student Amit Happy about SAT Score Improvement

~ Amit

"Incredible"

"I very highly recommend Dave for SAT Reading preparations. Dave has an absolute knack to help quickly understand the core logic and reasoning behind the various answer choices and how to approach solving the most difficult and confusing questions.

"He makes it so easy to logically find the precise answer choice without any guesswork or confusion. His process and methodology of coaching is thorough, organized and highly engaging. His coaching and guidance has been incredible and paramount for significantly raising our child’s SAT Reading score in a very short period of time.

"Our child had initially self prepared and received a score of 670. We then started classes with Dave and within 2 months, the score increased to a 720 and then another month later to a 740 for a 70 point score improvement."

"Outstanding Tutor- Highly Recommended!"

"I am absolutely thrilled with the incredible progress that I made in the SAT Reading & Writing section, thanks to Dave Walker's exceptional tutoring. Starting with a score of 630 and through Dave's tutoring, achieving an impressive 710, the results speak volumes about Dave's expertise and dedication.

"Dave is an extraordinarily thorough and hardworking tutor who truly cares about his students' success. His personalized approach and complete understanding of the SAT content made all the difference. He consistently provided clear explanations, practical strategies, and encouraged support throughout the preparation process.

"The remarkable improvement in my score is a testament to Dave's effective teaching methods. I am extremely grateful for his guidance during this pivotal moment in my academic journey. I highly recommend Dave to any parent seeking a qualified and committed test prep tutor."

Walker Prep Reviews - SAT Prep Student Kanan Happy about Big SAT Score Increase

~ Kanan

"Hyper Detail-Oriented, Objective English SAT Tutor"

"Within my own experience of learning, taking, and hearing advice from COUNTLESS tutors regarding the SAT, there is no one I know who can match the expertise and objectivity that Dave brings to analytically solving the SAT English Section.

"When you take classes with Dave, it's not a matter of luck or mindless practice that will achieve outstanding scores—it's his focus on removing all subjectivity associated with SAT English and treating it as a factual science. There is an undoubtedly clear explanation for every right answer and a blatantly obvious reason for every wrong answer.

"Dave achieves this approach by breaking down the English portion into various sections with an exact way to solve each answer. He will provide the resources and tools to understand the method and solve seemingly 'subjective' questions analytically. In my scenario, I was looking for a tutor who could help me reach close to perfection in the English Section, and Dave did exactly that.

"I went from scoring 730 to 770 in the English Section, bringing my SAT to a 1570. Whether you are looking for major improvements or slight refining, Dave is the go-to guy and will provide intuitive analysis skills that will persist beyond standardized tests."
